AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association’s member schools had another successful year in 2025-26. CHSAA crowned 127 team champions across its 34 sports and activities, with 74 different schools claiming at least one title and 27 schools winning multiple championships.
Cherry Creek led all schools with six team championships, while Niwot won five and Lutheran, The Classical Academy, University and Valor Christian each won four.
Among this year’s state champions, there were 53 programs that repeated as state champions, while 34 individual programs that won state titles in a given sport or activity for the first time ever. Both of the boys volleyball state champions – Grandview (5A) and Lutheran (4A) – were first-time winners, while three of the four boys and girls golf champions brought home the championship trophy for the first time; in boys golf, Cherokee Trail won 5A, Mead won 4A and Swink won 2A, while Ponderosa (4A), Timnath (3A) and Resurrection Christian (2A) won on the girls side. Resurrection Christian also claimed its first spirit title, winning 3A cheer, while Arapahoe won 4A/5A gameday cheer for the first time.
Three of the four skiing champions were first time winners in the respective discipline, which started a year ago, with Summit sweeping the boys alpine and nordic titles, and also the girls alpine championship.
In baseball, Pueblo County (4A) and Flatirons Academy (1A) each won its first title, and in boys basketball, Rock Canyon (6A) and Strasburg (3A) captured its first titles, while Salida (3A) won its first girls basketball championship.
There were three first-time track and field team champions, with Coal Ridge (3A) and McClave (1A) winning titles on the boys side, and Mountain Vista (5A) on the girls side. Ridgway (2A) also took home its first gold trophy in girls cross country.
Girls swimming crowned Broomfield (4A) and Kent Denver (3A) champions for the first time, while Broomfield also captured its first softball title, doing so in 5A. In esports, Bear Creek (Rocket League) and ThunderRidge (Mario Kart) picked up an esports title for the first time, while Highland (2A) won its first wrestling title, The Classical Academy (4A) its first flag football championship and Dakota Ridge (4A) its first football crown. Colorado Academy (3A) rallied for its first girls tennis championship, Pine Creek (4A) its first ice hockey title, Cañon City its first jazz music championship and in unified bowling, Lakewood claimed its first state championship.
