THORNTON – For the first time since 2022, the Broomfield gymnastics team is the Class 5A state champion.
On Thursday at Thornton High School, the Eagles posted a winning score of 182.275 to claim the Class 5A team title. Broomfield now has five gymnastics team titles to its name, placing the Eagles in a tie for sixth all-time.
“I’m very excited for them,” Eagles head coach Abby Anderson said. “They worked tirelessly all season long and they knew they had the potential. We had some ups and downs around midseason but they came into the postseason ready to work and that’s exactly what they did. I’m very proud of them.”
Broomfield scored a 47.200 on vault, 44.075 on bars, 44.900 on beam and 46.100 on floor. Leading the way for the Eagles, senior Lili Wojahn finished third in the all-around competition with a score of 37.500.
“All we were thinking was be ourselves, get in there and hit,” Wojahn said. “Just being ourselves and be the best we can be is all we can do. We were the best version of ourselves today and that’s what we were trying to do all day long.”
Chatfield finished runner-up in the team scoring with a total of 179.175. Defending champion Mountain Range was third with a score of 178.200.
Overland (177.050) was fourth, Arvada West (176.750) was fifth, Valor Christian (173.225) was sixth, Poudre School District (172.300) was seventh, Ponderosa (170.300) was eighth, Thornton (170.225) was ninth and Lakewood (167.900) was 10th.

won the all-around competition with a score of 38.300, defending her title from last season. Mountain Range junior Ella Mikolajewski was runner-up with a score of 37.550.
