Niwot names Jeremy Lanter new football coach
Niwot has hired Jeremy Lanter to be its next football coach, athletic director Chase McBride announced on Monday evening.
Lanter, an assistant coach for 15 seasons, will take over the Class 4A program that finished 3-7 last season. He comes to Niwot from Berthoud, where he was defensive coordinator for the Spartans, and also a track and field assistant.
“We look forward to coach Lanter’s student first approach to the game,” McBride said in a statement. “He emphasizes success in the classroom as his number one priority. “His positive energy, commitment to student and student-athletes, and love for the game are just some of the reasons why we believe coach Lanter to be a perfect fit here at Niwot.”
In a statement, Lanter said he hopes “to use football and the lessons it provides as a means of preparing young men to be successful in all aspects of their lives.”
Lanter replaces Dylan Hollingsworth, who was 4-16 in two seasons.
