CHSAA, Denver Broncos Host 2026 Football Media Day

DENVER — In collaboration with the Denver Broncos, the Colorado High School Activities Association hosted its annual Football Media Day event at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium on Tuesday to celebrate the start of the 2026 season.

Some of Colorado’s top high school tackle and football teams and athletes were represented – more than 125 students across 21 different teams and 20 schools took part.

At the event, attendees received a media training presentation from the Denver Broncos’ public relations team, participated in photo-shoot sessions, and engaged with local media outlets in a press conference setting.

The event began with an introductory speech and press conference for the media with CHSAA Commissioner Mike Krueger.

“Educationally-based programs teach life lessons that simply can’t be replicated anywhere else,” Krueger said. “Character, resilience, learning how to handle both victory with grace and defeat with grace. Leadership, teamwork, discovering that success is built on trust, sacrifice and working towards something bigger than yourself. Community pride, bringing neighborhoods, towns and cities together under a shared purpose.

“When our young people put on their school colors, they aren’t just playing a game. They’re learning how to be the leaders, teammates and productive citizens of tomorrow.”

Once again, the Denver Broncos organization, led by Director of Youth & High School Football Bobby Mestas, were the driving force behind the event.

“Their support for tackle football, flag football and all of our high school sports is simply unmatched,” Krueger said. “Their dedication to our athletes, coaches, officials and local communities across the country, and throughout all of Broncos County, truly sets the gold standard for every other NFL franchise and city in the nation.”
