Esports: Playoff Bracket Released for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

AURORA – The 32-team bracket for the 2025 Esports State Championships for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been released by PlayVS. 

Postseason play will begin on Thursday, April 10 with Round 1, while Round 2 is scheduled for Monday, April 14 and Round 3 on Wednesday, April 16. From there, the four winners will advance to the in-personal final on Thursday, April 24 at Localhost, where the semifinals and finals will be played. 

The first three rounds will all be played at home sites, with games taking place at 4 p.m. At Localhost, the semifinals are scheduled for 2 p.m. with the championship finals at 5 p.m. 

The Esports State Championships for Unified Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will also take place at Localhost on April 24. The inaugural unified championship will be played at 10:30 a.m., while the fourth-annual Super Smash Bros. Ultimate championship will be at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Trophy and award presentations will take place immediately after each final.
