Ice Hockey: Finals Matchups Set Following Saturday’s Thrilling Semifinals

AURORA – The finalists are set for 2025 CHSAA Ice Hockey State Championships following Saturday’s semifinals in both 4A and 5A in Colorado Springs. The championship games are set for Monday at the University of Denver’s Magness Arena, with the puck dropping at 5 p.m. for the 4A final and at 7:30 for the 5A championship.
There’s one general admission ticket option that will be good for both games. All tickets are $15 and must be purchased on GoFan. It’s encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to avoid long lines at the door.
All four of Saturday’s semifinal games went to overtime.
In 4A on Saturday, both games were decided in 3-2 overtime thrillers. No. 1 Glenwood Springs defeated No. 4 Summit in one overtime, and No. 2 Steamboat Springs beat No. 3 Pine Creek in double overtime. Glenwood Springs and Steamboat Springs are set to play in the final.
In 5A, fantastic finishes continued, as No. 1 seed Poudre School District scored two third-period goals — the second with 1:50 left — to force overtime, then got the game winner in the second overtime for a 4-3 victory over No. 4 Cherry Creek. And finally, No. 3 Valor Christian got the game’s only goal in overtime for a 1-0 win over No. 2 Monarch.
