Ice Hockey: Quarterfinals of State Championships are Completed




AURORA – The quarterfinal round of the 2025 CHSAA Ice Hockey State Championships has been completed with the top-four seeds in both the 4A and 5A brackets advancing to Saturday’s semifinals in Colorado Springs. Tickets for those semifinal games are on sale now.
In 4A, on Tuesday, No. 1 Glenwood Springs edged No. 8 Durango 2-1, getting the game-winning goal in the third period. And No 4 Summit edged No. 5 Cheyenne Mountain, 2-0.
On Wednesday, No. 3 Pine Creek used an overtime goal to knock off No. 6 Standley Lake, 4-3, while No. 2 Steamboat Springs got past No. 7 Colorado Academy, 5-0.
In 5A, No. 4 Cherry Creek outscored No. 5 Regis Jesuit 5-1 to move into a semifinal contest against No. 1 Poudre School District, a 7-2 winner over No. 8 Mountain Vista.
On Wednesday, No. 3 Valor Christian defeated No. 6 Heritage, 6-2. The Eagles move on to face No. 2 Monarch, which held off No. 7 Denver East, 2-1, to advance.
