AURORA -- The Colorado High School Activities Association's 5A Ice Hockey Tournament started Friday night, with three first-round games, before the first round concludes Saturday.

Winners will advance to the quarterfinals, played on Feb. 27 and 28 at the South Suburban Sports Complex.

• Teams with a first-round bye -- No. 1 Regis Jesuit, No. 2 Valor Christian, No. 3 Cherry Creek, No. 4 Monarch.
• No. 5 Poudre School District vs. No. 12 Heritage: Heritage wins, 4-2 (will advance to play Monarch).
• No. 6 Mountain Vista vs. No. 11 Ralston Valley: Mountain Vista wins, 4-2 (will advance to play Cherry Creek).
• No. 7 Denver East vs. No. 10 Chaparral, Denver East wins, 4-3 (OT) (winner will advance to play Valor Christian).
• No. 8 Standley Lake vs. No. 9 Castle View: Standley Lake wins, 4-3 (OT) (winner will advance to play Regis Jesuit).
