2A Boys Golf Region 2: Golden View Classical Academy Sweeps Regional Titles

AURORA – Only one stroke separated senior David Thomson and sophomore Collen Todd on the individual leaderboard of the 2A Region 2 Boys Golf Regional, as Thomson came away with medalist honors and the duo led Golden View Classical Academy to the team title Monday at Commonground Golf Course. 

Thomson turned in a round-best 1-over 72, while Todd carded a 2-over 73 and Denver Christian freshman Oscar Ford took third with a 7-over 78. Bishop Machebeuf sophomore Nicholas Johnson, SkyView Academy senior Joshua Reeves and Denver Christian sophomore Trey Speir all tied for fourth at 9-over 80, while St. Mary’s junior Ron Karin took seventh with a 10-over 81. 

Rounding out the top-10, in a three-way tie for eighth, was SkyView Academy senior Landon Webb, Jefferson Academy senior Kaleb King and Vanguard senior Eshan Jain. The trio all signed for an 11-over 82 through the round. 

Behind Golden View Classical Academy’s team score of 237, SkyView Academy took second with a 251. One stroke back of that was Denver Christian, in third at 252, and one stroke back of that was Bishop Machebeuf, in fourth at 253. Jefferson Academy rounded out the top five in fifth place with a score of 255.

CHSAA’s 2024 2A Boys Golf State Championship will be played at The Club at Rollins Hills in Golden, on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7 and 8.
