Cherry Creek’s Sydney Mech commits to University of Denver

Cherry Creek senior Sydney Mech announced on Twitter that she will be staying in the Denver Metro area to play college basketball:

Mech verbally committed to the University of Denver on Wednesday night.

She scored 27 points to upset Ralston Valley and send 12-seeded Cherry Creek into the semifinals of last year’s Class 5A state tournament.

Mech played just 13 games last season, but averaged 7.2 points per game.

In three seasons, Mech has averaged 7.6 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game.
