Grandview searching for new volleyball coach to replace Childress
Grandview has officially posted its opening for a volleyball coach as the school searches for a replacement for the legendary Patty Childress, who retired after the 2015 season.
The school listed the opening on cherrycreekschools.org on Monday.
“Grandview High School is very honored to have had Patty Childress leading our volleyball program the past 18 years,” said Wolves athletic director Jamee Ulitzky. “We are grateful for all she has done and the standard she has set. We now begin the process of hiring a coach to fill her position and continue the success of the program.”
Childress built Grandview into one of the state’s best volleyball program in her time. Under her guidance, the Wolves won five state championships, including two straight in 2013 and 2014.
She was 493-169 in her career, according to the Aurora Sentinel.
The next coach will inherit a team which went 18-9 in 2015, and reached the state tournament yet again.
