5A Baseball: Arvada West to Meet Regis Jesuit in Semis

AURORA — The first weekend of the 2026 Colorado High School Activities Association's Baseball State Championships is underway with today's six games determining tomorrow's semifinal matchup between No. 1 Arvada West vs. No. 3 Regis Jesuit. The final five games will also be played at the same two sites - All-City Stadium and All-Star Park - tomorrow. 

In today's first round, top-seeded Arvada West cruised to the semifinals, picking up wins over No. 8 Chatfield, 7-1, and No. 4 Pine Creek, 9-2, along the way. Pine Creek advanced to the second round with a 5-2 win over No. 5 Fairview. 

On the other side of the bracket, No. 3 Regis Jesuit squeaked by No. 6 Mountain Vista, 3-2, before securing a spot in the semifinals with an 8-3 win over No. 7 Legend. Legend started the day wtih a 6-3 upset win over No. 2 Broomfield. 

Saturday's games will begin with the first round consolation games at 9:30 a.m., which will feed into the second round consolation games at noon. The semifinal game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. 

Next weekend, the third and fourth-round consolation games will be played on Friday, May 29, with the winner of that fourth round consolation game advancing to Saturday's championship game vs. the winner of this weekend's semifinal game. The championship game will be played at 10 a.m., with the if-needed championship game to follow at 2:30 p.m.
