6A Boys Basketball: Great 8 Update

AURORA - The Great 8, the quarterfinal round of the Colorado High School Activities Association's 6A Boys Basketball State Championship, is underway Friday at the Denver Coliseum. Winners advance to the semifinals on Friday, March 13.

In the opener, Davis May scored 20 points to lead No. 5 Rock Canyon to a 66-52 victory over No. 13 Grandview. Then Aiden Perez scored 20 points and Anthony Andrew pulled down 13 rebounds as No. 3 Rangeview defeated No. 6 Cherry Creek 51-33. In game three, No. 1 Chaparral cruised to a 65-45 win over No. 8 Mountain Vista behind 21 points from Christian Williams. To cap the night, Zeke Andrews scored in the closing seconds to cap a 17-point night and lift No. 2 Ralston Valley to a 54-53 win over No. 7 George Washington.

The championship game is Saturday, March 14.
