3A Basketball: Boys and Girls Semifinals Results




DENVER – The semifinals of the 2026 CHSAA 3A Boys and Girls State Tournaments were played Friday at the University of Denver.
In the first boys semifinal, Cade Hemphill scored 13 points as No. 1 Strasburg defeated No. 12 St. Mary’s, 64-41. Then Erique Diggins had 16 points as No. Forge Christian held off a late rally from No. 3 Banning Lewis Academy for a 58-57 victory.
In the first girls semifinal, Braeden Johnson scored 14 points and assisted on the go-ahead layup by Madelyn Johnson with 42 seconds left as No. 5 Salida knocked off No. 1 Denver Christian, 50-47. Then, Taryn Sheffield scored 15 points as No. 3 Yuma beat defending champion and No. 7 Resurrection Christian, 32-23.
The championship games are Saturday.
The Strasburg boys are seeking their first state title in basketball, while Forge Christian is trying for its eighth, which would be its first since 2023.
The Yuma girls have won four state championships, with the last in 2019, while Salida is seeking its first girls state basketball championship.
