2A Basketball: Boys and Girls Semifinals Results




FORT COLLINS – The semifinals of the of the 2026 CHSAA 2A Boys and Girls Basketball State Tournaments were played Friday at Colorado State University’s Moby Arena in Fort Collins.
In the first boys semifinal, Tatum Kocerha had 28 points and 15 rebounds to lead No. 2 Simla to a 44-39 victory over No. 3 Heritage Christian. Then Daniel Foristall had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead No. 9 Limon into the finals with a 54-43 win over No. 5 Golden View Classical Academy.
In the first girls semifinal, Laney Piel had 16 points and seven assists as No. 1 Merino cruised to a 66-34 win over No. 4 Sargent. Then Brynlee Amendt was one of three players with 11 points, and also added 10 of her team’s 31 steals, as No. 2 Simla defeated No. 3 Sanford 49-27.
The championship games are Saturday.
The Merino girls are seeking a third straight state basketball championship, which would be their sixth overall in the sport. A Simla title would be its third in girls basketball, and its first since 2011.
