AURORA - The second round of the Colorado High School Activities Association's 5A Girls Basketball State Championship was completed Saturday.
The top 16 seeds all advanced to the third round with victories. Three games were decided by fewer than 10 points: No. 12 Frederick beat No. 21 Widefield 48-42, No. 13 Golden defeated No. 20 Durango 57-52, and No. 15 Northridge topped No. 18 Mullen 50-43.
The third round is set to be played at home sites on Wednesday. Then the tournament moves to the Denver Coliseum, with the quarterfinals Saturday, March 7, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, March 12 and the championship games on Saturday, March 14.
