Girls Tennis: Dual Team Championship Finals Tomorrow

AURORA – The championship finals of the Colorado High School Activities Association’s 2025 Girls Tennis Dual Team State Championships will take place next Tuesday, May 13 at Denver Tennis Park.

The top-two seeds in all three classifications advanced, with No. 1 Peak to Peak taking on No. 2 Prospect Ridge in the 3A finals at 8:30 a.m., followed by No. 1 Kent Denver vs. No. 2 Cheyenne Mountain in the 4A finals at 11:45 a.m. The final match of the day, the 5A finals, will be between No. 1 Ralston Valley and No. 2 Cherry Creek at 3 p.m. 

All seven lines will play at the same time with the match being played to clinch, meaning the first team to win four lines will be awarded the state title. Remaining matches will be stopped in the middle of play once a team clinches.

A live stream will be available for all matches: All start times are approximate, as teams will receive at least 45 minutes of warm-up time before its match. A trophy presentation will also take place immediately following the finals. 

Top-seeded Ralston Valley advanced to the finals by sweeping No. 5 Rock Canyon, 7-0, in the 5A semifinals, while Cherry Creek got past No. 3 Valor Christian, 6-1. In 4A, No. 2 Cheyenne Mountain knocked off No. 3 Mullen, 5-2, and No. 1 Kent Denver swept No. 5 Air Academy, 3-0. In 3A, No. 1 Peak to Peak defeated No. 4 Holy Family, 5-1, and No. 2 Prospect Ridge narrowly escaped No. 3 Colorado Academy, 4-3. 

With Cherry Creek (39 titles), Cheyenne Mountain (25) and Kent Denver (6) advancing to the state championships, the three most decorated girls tennis programs will be making an appearance in the title matches. 

Ralston Valley (5A) and Kent Denver (4A) will both be playing to defend its state titles from 2024, with Ralston Valley looking for its second overall state championship. Cherry Creek and Cheyenne Mountain both last won in 2023, while Peak to Peak is looking for its first championship since winning back-to-back titles in 2018 an 2019. Prospect Ridge will be looking for its first-ever state title in girls tennis.

Since the dual team tournament began in 2023, a different team has won each of the titles in all three classifications, with Ralston Valley (5A), Kent Denver (4A) and Colorado Academy (3A) capturing the 2024 state titles. Cherry Creek (5A), Cheyenne Mountain (4A) and D'Evelyn (3A) all won the inaugural dual team titles in 2023.

NEW: We have budgeted more time for each of the matches in order to better "stay on schedule." IF the match ahead of you goes very quickly, we will roll the next match on early, however, they will not go on earlier than indicated below. All teams will be guaranteed a 45-min warm-up prior to playing.

10:45-11:30 am – 4A team warm-up
11:30-11:45 am – 4A team introductions
11:45 am – 4A championship matches with awards presentation immediately at the conclusion of play/clinch.(Finals matches will start no sooner than 11 am) 

5A Championships
2:00-2:45 pm – 5A team warm-up
2:45-3:00 pm – 5A team introductions
3:00 pm – 5A championship matches with awards presentation immediately at the conclusion of play/clinch (Finals matches will start no sooner than 2 pm)
