5A Baseball: Final Four Teams Set for Next Weekend

AURORA — The final four teams for CHSAA’s 5A State Baseball Tournament were determined after games were played on Saturday.

No. 5 Broomfield and No. 6 Regis Jesuit stayed alive with victories in elimination games, then No. 2 Creek Creek topped No. 1 Grandview 7-1 in the winner’s bracket contest. Those four teams will play for the championship next weekend at All-Star Park in Lakewood.

Cherry Creek, the lone unbeaten, awaits the team that emerges from Friday’s games. The first scheduled championship game is May 31 at 10 a.m., and Cherry Creek would be the champion if it wins. Should Cherry Creek lose the 10 a.m. game, the teams would play again in a winner-take-all final.
