6A Girls Basketball: Play-In Round Updates

AURORA – The play-in round of the 2025 CHSAA 6A Girls Basketball State Championships took place Wednesday, with eight winners advancing to the first round.

Three of the eight games ended up being upsets, with No. 33 Horizon sneaking past No. 32 Chatfield, 58-52, No. 34 Vista PEAK Prep knocking off No. 31 Legacy, 51-45, in overtime, and No. 36 Pueblo defeating No. 29 Pueblo West, 35-27.

In the other games, No. 25 Eaglecrest knocked off No. 40 Fairview, 54-33, No. 26 Fossil Ridge advanced with a 68-22 win over No. 39 Denver North, No. 27 Chaparral got past No. 38 Denver South, 54-45, No. 28 Overland downed No. 37 Boulder, 50-29 and No. 30 ThunderRidge defeated No. 35 Poudre, 37-19. 

Wednesday’s winners moved into the 32-team first-round bracket, with 16 games scheduled for Saturday.
