Alpine Skiing: Aspen Sweeps Team State Championships

ASPEN – The Aspen Highlands hosted the Colorado High School Activities Association’s first-ever Alpine Skiing State Championship Thursday and Friday, and Aspen swept the boys and girls team titles on their home course. This year marked the first year that the skiing state championships were divided into an alpine and nordic division. Previously the alpine and nordic team scores were combined to determine a state champion.
Individually, Summit’s Seth Montgomery repeated as the boys giant slalom champion on Thursday, while Battle Mountain’s Ruthie DeMino won the girls giant slalom title. On Friday, Durango’s Mathilde Roskam claimed the slalom state title and Montgomery won the boys championship to mark the second-consecutive year he’s swept the two alpine events.
The 2025 Nordic Skiing State Championships will take place next Thursday and Friday in Steamboat Springs.
