Basketball: 5A, 6A Brackets to be Seeded Sunday

AURORA – Two classifications – 5A and 6A – of boys and girls basketball will have their 2025 state tournaments brackets seeded and released on Sunday by the Colorado State High School Activities Association (CHSAA) office.

Those tournament will begin with the boys first-round games on Tuesday, Feb. 25. The first round games in the girls tournaments are Wednesday, Feb. 26. The boys’ second round games will be on Friday, Feb. 28, followed by the girls’ second round on Saturday, March 1. Sweet 16 games will be on Tuesday, March 4 (boys) and Wednesday, March 6 (girls). The 5A Great 8 games will be played on Friday, March 7, with the 6A Great 8 games on Saturday, March 8. The semifinals and finals of the state championships will be Thursday through Saturday, March 13-15, at the Denver Coliseum. 

Teams will be seeded using the CHSAA Seeding Index. The official rankings are updated hourly with the latest RPI data, and each Monday and Thursday with MaxPreps data. (Find answers to FAQs about the Seeding Index here).

Final seeding data will be available on Sunday. That means that this weekend’s games will bring the regular season to a close in 4A, 5A and 6A. A schedule of games, as well as scores, is available on the Scoreboard.
