Weather Alters CHSAA’s Postseason Schedule
AURORA – With field hockey, football, gymnastics, boys soccer and girls volleyball all in the midst of postseason competition, the Colorado High School Activities Association is monitoring the weather across the state, and will be making changes to various events, when necessary.
The Field Hockey State Championship games have been rescheduled for Monday at DPS All-City Stadium. Consolation finals will be at 4:30 p.m., followed by the championship finals at 6:30 p.m.
All first-round games are hosted by the higher seeded team. Schedule changes will be local decisions. Check with teams or host schools for most up-to-date information on game times and locations. Schedule changes and scores that have been reported to CHSAA can be found on the football brackets for each of the classifications.
Thursday’s 5A Team State Championships were completed as scheduled at Thornton High School. The 4A Team State Championships scheduled for Friday was postponed until Saturday morning. The 4A Team State Championships will now begin at 10:25 a.m. Saturday morning with the 4A and 5A Individual Event Finals being pushed back as well, now starting at 6:35 p.m. Saturday evening.
The 5A boys quarterfinals have been moved to Sunday at DPS All-City Stadiuml, with the first of four games beginning at 11 a.m. For 4A, 3A and 2A, those games are hosted by the higher seed, so schedule changes will be local decisions. Check with teams or host schools for most up-to-date information on game times and locations.
