Gymnastics: State Championships Postponed to Saturday Due to Weather

AURORA – Due to snow accumulations, inclement weather and school closures for Friday in the Denver metro area, the Colorado High School Activities Association has postponed Friday’s competition for the 4A Gymnastics State Championships.

The 4A team finals, originally scheduled for Friday, will now take place on Saturday morning. The 4A and 5A individual finals previously scheduled for Saturday morning will now be pushed back to Saturday afternoon.

At the conclusion of the 4A Prelim Session, the gym will be cleared for the Individual Finals Session. Spectators must leave the gym and take all of their belongings for venue cleaning purposes between sessions. The gym will reopen at 5:15 p.m. for the Individual Finals Session.

An updated schedule for Saturday’s competition is below:

4A Prelim Session
9 a.m. – Registration/Check-In
9:15 a.m. – Coaches Meeting
9:30 a.m. – Judges Meeting
9:30 – 10 a.m. – Open Gym
10 a.m. – Opening Ceremonies (introduction of teams, presentation of colors)
10:15 a.m. – First Timed Warm-Up (8 minutes)
10:25 a.m. – Competition Begins
*Team and Individual All-Around Champions to be presented with awards at competition of events
