AURORA – Four quarterfinal round tickets were punched Tuesday night and two Wednesday night, while the other two second round matchups will be played Thursday night.
No. 1 Northfield, No. 2 Boulder, No. 3 Broomfield, No. 4 Cherry Creek, No. 5 Denver East, No. 6 Regis Jesuit, No. 8 Ralston Valley and No. 23 Fort Collins all advanced to the quarterfinals.
No. 1 Northfield used a 3-2 win over No. 16 Pine Creek to advance to the quarterfinals, where it will face No. 8 Ralston Valley, which knocked off No. 24 Grandview, 4-2.
No. 2 Boulder shutout No. 18 Horizon, 2-0, and will next face No. 23 Fort Collins, which shutout No. 7 Columbine, 4-0, Thursday afternoon.
No. 3 Broomfield got past No. 19 Valor Christian, 2-1 and will advance to face No. 6 Regis Jesuit, which defeated No. 22 Erie, 4-1, in the second round.
No. 4 Cherry Creek got past No. 13 Grand Junction, 3-0, and will meet No. 5 Denver East in the quarterfinals. Denver East defeated No. 12 Rock Canyon, 2-1, Wednesday night.
