Field Hockey: First Round of State Championships Begins Today

AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) released the bracket for the Field Hockey State Championships on Friday and play will begin today with first-round competition.

First-round games will take place today and tomorrow with the winners advancing to the championship bracket and the losers moving on to the consolation bracket. Those two brackets will be eight-team single-elimination brackets that will be played out to determine the two championship games that will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 6. 

The quarterfinals of the main bracket and the consolation bracket will all be played on Thursday, Oct. 31. The winners of the quarterfinal round will advance to the semifinals. 

The semifinals and championship games for both brackets will be hosted at DPS All-City Stadium. The championship bracket semifinals will be on Monday, Nov. 4, followed by the consolation bracket semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Both championship games will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

• No. 1 Colorado Academy vs. No. 16 Grandview
• No. 2 Cherry Creek vs. No. 15 Pine Creek
• No. 5 Kent Denver vs. No. 12 Cheyenne Mountain
• No. 7 Mountain Vista vs. No. 10 Palmer Ridge
