Boys Dual Team Tennis Championships Remain Upset-Free Through Quarterfinals

AURORA - The Boys Tennis Dual Team Championships remained upset free through the quarterfinal round, as all of the higher-seeded teams won their matches yet again. The winners will all advance to the semifinal round, with matches being played at the home site of the higher-seeded team on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Start times can be found on the brackets once they're available. 

The state championship finals will then be played the next week, on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at a neutral site.

In the 5A bracket, top seed Regis Jesuit secured their spot in the semifinals and nearly swept Chaparral with a score of 6-1. The Raiders will matchup against the fourth-seeded Fossil Ridge SaberCats next, after Fossil Ridge by squeaking by Ralston Valley 4-3.

On the other half of the bracket, the Cherry Creek Bruins cruised by the Arapahoe Warriors, with a score of 6-1, to earn their place in the semifinals. Cherry Creek will face off with Valor Christian in the semifinals, after the Eagles completed the 7-0 sweep of the Fairview Knights.

In the 4A bracket, No. 1 seed Kent Denver almost completed a sweep of their own, beating Coronado 6-1 to advance to the semifinals. Meanwhile, the fourth-seeded Denver South Ravens and the fifth-seeded D'Evelyn Jaguars had their contest come down to the wire, only for the Ravens to emerge victorious with a 4-3 score, placing them in the semifinals.

Second-seeded Colorado Academy earned a 6-1 victory over Niwot to advance to the semifinals, where they'll face Evergreen, who arrives in the semifinals after narrowly beating Cheyenne Mountain 4-3.
