Longmont’s Cooper Rothe commits to Wyoming football
Cooper Rothe, a kicker and cornerback for Longmont’s football team, has committed to Wyoming.
The senior announced his decision over Twitter on Tuesday night:

Rothe, who is listed at 6-foot, 170 pounds, is 3-of-4 on field goal attempts this season, with a
against Pueblo East in the Trojans’ season-opener. He’s also handled punting duties this season.On defense, he has a team-high four interceptions, 24 total tackles, and has blocked one kick.
Longmont is currently 5-0 and ranked No. 2 in Class 4A.
Rothe was also offered by Air Force.
Last season, Rothe was 4-of-8 on field goals with a long of 42 yards. He also had nine interceptions, 62 tackles and two blocked kicks on defense as the Trojans finished as runner-up in 4A.
An all-around athlete, Rothe is also part of Longmont’s boys basketball and baseball teams, and has been a varsity member of both programs since he was a freshman.
A centerfielder, Rothe hit .344 with two home runs and 12 RBIs for the Trojans baseball team last season. In basketball, he averaged 2.5 points per game last winter.
Rothe is the latest member of the 2016 football class to announce his college choice.
