No. 2 Evergreen advanced to the 4A final by squeaking by No. 3 Grand Junction, 10-9, Saturday, while No. 9 Cheyenne Mountain upset No. 5 Lutheran, 10-5, to advance. Last year, Cherry Creek came away with an 11-8 win for its eighth title and first since capturing three from 2015-19. Valor will be looking for its first championship since winning in 2024. The Eagles have three state titles in their program’s history, as they won back-to-back in 2016-17.
This year, Valor advanced to the final by knocking off No. 4 Arapahoe, 12-2, while Cherry Creek used a 14-9 victory over No. 3 Regis Jesuit to move on to the championship game.
