Esports: Brackets Released for State Championships

AURORA – The brackets for the 2025 Esports State Championships for League of Legends, Rocket League and Splatoon have been released by PlayVS and the postseason has begun in Splatoon.
Both the Rocket League and Splatoon brackets are 16-team single elimination brackets, while eight teams are in the League of Legends bracket. The final four teams remaining in League of Legends will advance to Localhost in Lakewood for the in-person final on Dec. 9, while the final eight teams will advance to Localhost for Rocket League and Splatoon.
Postseason play will began Thursday with the first round of Splatoon. The first round for Rocket League will be Monday, Dec. 1, with the League of Legends first round taking place on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
The championship day on Dec. 9 will start with the Rocket League quarterfinals at 9 a.m. The semifinals will begin at approximately 10 a.m., with the finals set for 11 a.m. League of Legends play will begin with the semifinals at 10:30 a.m. and the championship set for 1 p.m., while Splatoon will cap off the day with the quarterfinals beginning at 2 p.m., the semfinals set for 3 p.m. and the finals at 4 p.m. A trophy presentation will take place immediately after each of the individual games’ finals.
