ARVADA - Chatfield swept the team and individual titles at the 5A Boys Golf Western Regional at Indian Tree Golf Course Monday, with the Chargers' senior Jesse Hand scoring 1-under 69 and the team combining for a score of 216 overall. 

Grandview senior Michael Rosman led a tight race after that, as his 1-over 71 was good for second and one stroke ahead of Denver South junior Cole Kratz (2-over 72). One stroke back of that was Smoky Hill sophomore Reece Nuwash and Chatfield senior Peter Howard, who both finished tied for fourth with matching 3-over 73s.

Tied for sixth was Chatfield junior Wyatt Montoya and Lakewood freshman Carter Brace, who signed for 4-over 74s, while a five-way tie for eighth closed out the top-10. Lakewood senior Augie Sucaet, Fruita Monument junior Collin Black, ThunderRidge sophomore Sean Wisler, Poudre junior Max Riley and Lakewood junior Michael Skimel all finished at 6-over 76. 

Teamwise, Grandview and Lakewood both combined for team scores of 16-over 226 (Grandview won the playoff tiebreaker), while Smoky Hill came in fourth at 19-over 229. Denver South rounded out the top five with a 20-over 230. 

CHSAA's 2024 Boys Golf State Championship at CommonGround Golf Course in Aurora, on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7 and 8.
