AURORA - The first round of the 2024 3A Football playoffs are in the books and the quarterfinal round matchups are set. 

The biggest upset of the first round came Friday night, as No. 13 Severance handed No. 4 Palisade a 10-3 loss. The only other game to be played Friday was No. 5 Green Mountain vs. No. 12 Roosevelt, which Green Mountain won, 38-7.

On Saturday, No. 7 Pueblo Central outscored No. 10 Lutheran 36-34 in the closest game of the day. Also, No. 1 Thompson Valley beat No. 16 Holy Family 38-14, No. 2 Pomona beat No. 14 Conifer 49-28, No. 6 Windsor shut out No. 11 Mountain View 36-0, No. 2 Mead beat Pueblo South 30-7, and No. 8 Discovery Canyon defeated No. 9 Pueblo East 28-21.
