Gymnastics: Regionals Scheduled for Oct. 31-Nov. 2

AURORA - The 2024 Gymnastics regional competition will take place at Overland, Mountain Range and Arvada West high schools next week. The Overland Regional is Thursday, Oct. 31, the Mountain Range Regional is Friday, Nov. 1, and the Arvada West Regional is Saturday, Nov. 2.

At regionals, teams will compete to qualify for the state championships. Qualifying is different for teams and individuals at each classification. Below is a breakdown of who's competing at each regional and the different scenarios for qualification. The three regional rotations are also available.

A presentation of awards will take place immediately following all competition.
 
 

Overland Regional

  • Date: Thursday, Oct. 31
  • Location: Overland High School in Aurora
  • Opening Ceremony: 4 p.m. 
  • Start Time: 4:10 p.m.
  • Teams Competing: Cherry Creek, Denver South, Evergreen, Fort Morgan, Heritage, Northfield, Overland, Pomona, Rock Canyon, Roosevelt
 

Mountain Range Regional

  • Date: Friday, Nov. 1
  • Location: Mountain Range High School in Westminster
  • Opening Ceremony: 3:15 p.m. 
  • Start Time: 3:25 p.m.
  • Teams Competing: Alamosa, Bear Creek, Chatfield, Denver East, Lakewood, Mountain Range, Niwot, Palmer Ridge, Pueblo Central, Ponderosa
 

Arvada West Regional

  • Date: Saturday, Nov. 2
  • Location: Arvada West High School in Arvada
  • Opening Ceremony: 10 a.m. 
  • Start Time: 10:10 a.m.
  • Teams Competing: Arvada West, Broomfield, Columbine, Elizabeth, Green Mountain, Loveland, Poudre School District, Standley Lake, Thornton
 

How To Qualify For State Championships

  • 4A Teams: Nine teams will qualify to compete at the state championships. The top team score in each of the three regionals will automatically qualify. The final six spots for qualification will be awarded to the next six best team scores, regardless of regional.
  • 4A Individuals: The top three individuals in each event from each regional, who aren’t included on a state qualifying team, will automatically qualify. The final nine spots for qualification will be awarded to the top nine individuals in each event, regardless of regional (18 total spots).
  • 5A Teams: 10 teams will qualify to compete at the state championships. The top team score in each of the three regionals will automatically qualify. The final seven spots for qualification will be awarded to the next seven best team scores, regardless of regional.
  • 5A Individuals: The top two individuals on each event from each regional, who aren’t included on a state qualifying team, will automatically qualify. The final six spots for qualification will be awarded to the top six individuals in each event, regardless of regional (12 total spots).
