2A Football: Week 1 Playoff Results

AURORA – Week 1 of the Colorado High School Activities Association’s 2A Football Playoffs for the 2023 State Championships are underway. Live scores can be found on MaxPreps and select games will be streamed on the NFHS Network.

No. 15 Eaton scored a touchdown in the final minute to escape Kent Denver, 31-28, at DeSorrento Memorial Field in Englewood; No. 12 seed Moffat County defeated Elizabeth, 31-21, at Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth; No. 10 Pagosa Springs ground out a 14-7 victory against La Junta; and No. 9 The Classical Academy cruised to a 40-19 victory over Basalt.
The final two games saw No. 6 seed University dispatch No. 11 seed Florence, by a score of 40-15, while No. 3 seed Rifle defeated No. 14 seed Brush, 21-14.
CHSAA’s 2A Football Playoffs got kicked off Friday night in Berthoud, as the No. 4 seed Spartans hosted the No. 13 seed Wellington Eagles. Berthoud snagged an early 15-6 lead in the first quarter, and never looked back, ultimately winning the game 38-6. They will play the winner of Saturday’s game between No. 5 seed Elizabeth and No. 12 seed Moffat County.
