For decades the Association lived where its commissioners worked — first at a school or district office, then in a single rented room (\"with a large closet\") in the Colorado Education Association building at 16th and Pennsylvania. In 1960 that era ended.
CHSAA opened a headquarters of its own at Montview Boulevard and Moline in Aurora: a mid-century one-story building that cost about $100,000 and served more than 250 member high schools. The Interscholastic marked the move as the Association stepping into a permanent home.

Remodels in 1968, 1973, and 1974 expanded office space as the Association grew. Looking back, Commissioner Wilson called the move “a highlight in the history of CHSAA” — facilities and prestige the organization had never owned before. Later headquarters eras, including the Centennial building still associated with the modern Association, sit further down the chronology.
