Media Information: Football State Championships (3A, 4A, 5A)

The Colorado High School Activities Association will host its 3A, 4A and 5A Football State Championships at Canvas Stadium on the campus of Colorado State University in Fort Collins this Saturday, Dec. 6.
 

Game Day Schedule

3A Championships – 10 a.m. – No. 1 Windsor vs. No. 2 Pomona
4A Championship – 1:30 p.m. – No. 1 Dakota Ridge vs. No. 3 Palmer Ridge
5A Championship – 5 p.m. – No. 1 Cherry Creek vs. No. 2 Ralston Valley

Parking

There is no designated media parking at Canvas Stadium. Reference the parking map to locate the lots identified below:
  • Media arriving for the 3A and/or 5A game(s) should park in one of the blue lots identified on the parking map: #335, #412, #425, #440, #473 or the Lory Student Center; please note the entrance to Lot 473 is the southeast corner right before the road closure. Access to this lot is from the east only.)
  • Media arriving for the 4A game should park in one of the red lots identified on the parking map (#570, #575, #577, #625).
  • Lot #240 is reserved for ADA parking. Any vehicles in the lot without a parking pass and/or ADA placard are subject to ticketing and/or towing. Please do not park in Lot 240.

Media Entrance/Credentials

Credentialed media will check in through the employee entrance on the west side of the stadium, just south of the Gate 2 Premium Entrance. There will be a sign outside to direct media to the correct door.

If you do not have a 2025-26 CHSAA-issued Annual Media Pass, Provisional Pass or Student Media Pass from a competing school, you WILL NOT be allowed into the facility as a media person. You may purchase a ticket, but you will not be allowed onto the field at any time.

At check in, credentialed media will obtain a championship-specific field pass. Both passes (CHSAA credential and field pass) are non-transferable and must always be worn in a visible manner by the bearer.

Provisional Passes

Provisional pass requests must be submitted by a media outlet's editor or school athletic director no later than noon on Friday, Dec. 5
  • No credentials will be issued on the day of the championships.

Student Media

Student media from competing schools may utilize a school-issued Student Media Pass to cover the games. Student media will need to check in at Media Check In to obtain a field pass.

Only one student may utilize a student media pass at a time; two students cannot share one pass.

Only the 2025-26 Student Media Pass from a competing school will be admitted. Students from non-competing schools will not be granted access unless prior approval has been granted by the CHSAA office through the school’s Athletic Director.

No adults or guests may use a student media pass for entry

Photographer Guidelines

Photographers may shoot from any point on the sidelines with the exception of the team boxes (approximately 40 yard line to 40 yard line). Photographers must remain 2 yards off the sideline to accommodate the game.

No media other than one’s own team media is permitted within 5 yards of the team box. Media covering one specific team (student media included), are not permitted to shoot from the opposing team's sideline.

Press Box

Open seating will be available in the press box on the sixth floor of Canvas Stadium. Please note that elevators will be held for coaches at halftime and the start of the game. To access the press box from the field during this time, or vice versa, you will need to take the stairs.

In-Game Statistics

Stats will be provided during the game, in an online only format. Printed stats will not be provided.

Media Conduct

Credentialed media members have a professional expectation to maintain objectivity and impartiality while utilizing a CHSAA credential to cover a CHSAA event. Credentialed media are prohibited from cheering, applauding, whistling or showing overt enthusiasm during sporting events and are expected to report the event without bias or favoritism.

Credentialed media members are also prohibited from coaching, communicating with, signaling to or interacting with student-athletes or coaches during the competition period, and shall not ask for autographs from the student-athletes while inside the venue.

Failure to adhere to these policies can result in consequences, including credential revocation.

Credentials are for working members of print, broadcast, or online media, as well as photographers and videographers covering the CHSAA State Championships for a recognized news outlet or competing school. Freelancers or unassigned media will not be credentialed.
