Media Conduct
Credentialed media members have a professional expectation to maintain objectivity and impartiality while utilizing a CHSAA credential to cover a CHSAA event. Credentialed media are prohibited from cheering, applauding, whistling or showing overt enthusiasm during sporting events and are expected to report the event without bias or favoritism.

Credentialed media members are also prohibited from coaching, communicating with, signaling to or interacting with student-athletes during the competition period, and shall not ask for autographs from the student-athletes while inside the venue.

Failure to adhere to these policies can result in consequences, including credential revocation.
  • Note: If you’re a media member and a coach of a participating school, coaches WILL NOT be allowed to serve in a media/photographer role in the infield/finish line restricted area while their students are competing. There will be consequences for coaches that are acting in a media role while their students/school are competing, including the student-athletes possibly being disqualified.
