AURORA - Micheal Jobman, the Superintendent and Athletic Director at Deer Trail School District 26J, has been elected to serve as the next president of the Colorado High School Activities Association’s Board of Directors. Jobman was elected to fill the vacancy being left by current Board president Joe Brown, as Brown will join the CHSAA staff as an Assistant Commissioner for the 2026-27 school year.
Jobman, who currently represents Region 10 on the board, will assume his new duties on July 1 and will serve a one-year term.
“I am truly excited to welcome Mr. Jobman into the role of Board President,” CHSAA Commissioner Mike Krueger said. “Mike is a thoughtful and caring leader who brings a broad and balanced perspective to his work. His experience as the superintendent of a small, rural school district provides an important and valued voice within our organization, and he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to representing and supporting all member schools, regardless of size or geography.
“Mike has been an invaluable member of our Board, and I am confident he will seamlessly continue the strong leadership and meaningful work that has been established. His leadership will serve our organization and membership well as we move forward together. ”
Jobman, a member of the CHSAA Board of Directors since 2023-24, brings a wide range of experience with him to the presidency. In addition to having over 25 years of coaching experience in basketball, track, cross country and baseball in three different states, he’s also served as a teacher, coordinator of schools, school principal, athletic director and superintendent throughout his career.
His diverse experience in both large and small school districts has provided him with a broad perspective and a deep understanding of effective leadership. The 1A Athletic Director of the Year in 2023 while working at Deer Trail School District, Jobman has also served as the Principal/Athletic Director at North Park School District and held positions in the Weld County School District 6 and Estes Park School District R-3.
“I am incredibly honored to be able to serve the membership in this capacity,” Jobman shared. “The trust the membership and the Board of Directors has placed in me to lead from this position is incredibly humbling. I look forward to this opportunity and to continuing to lead CHSAA in a positive direction.
“I also look forward to continuing the positive mission and vision of the CHSAA office and growing relationships with all member schools across our great state.”
In addition to Jobman assuming his role as president, CHSAA also welcomes six new members to its Board of Directors: Kevin Bendjy (District Athletic Director, Denver Public Schools), Karl Buck (Athletic Director, Centaurus), Gregg Hawkins (Athletic Director, Palisade), Amanda Jones-Weis (Assistant Principal, Greeley West), Rick Lovato (Athletic Director, Alamosa), and Shawn Randel (Principal, Akron).
The CHSAA Board of Directors represents member schools, leagues, districts and associations with the collective goal of fostering the health and development of high school activities in Colorado.
