The Colorado High School Activities Association's 2025-26 boys and girls basketball state championships will be held Thursday through Saturday, March 12-14, at four different venues, with champions being crowned in all six classifications.
CHSAA will also host its Great 8 for the 5A and 6A classifications at the Denver Coliseum, March 6-7, and the Great 8 for the 4A classifications, also at the Denver Coliseum, on Wednesday, March 11.
RSVP
Media RSVPs are not required.
PRESS ROW/MEDIA SEATING
All media seating will be at the discretion of the CHSAA media personnel on site.
Individual media outlets will be restricted to 2-3 seats maximum, dependent upon space, at each site. Preference will be given to outlet size and scope of overall prep sports coverage, with radio and/or written, journalistic coverage taking precedence.
For written media or radio with a CHSAA-issued media credential who are requesting a seat on press row, please email Amanda McClure (amcclure@chsaa.org) no later than the Wednesday of game week to inquire about seating. Due to limited space, particularly at CSU's Moby Arena and the Denver Coliseum, it is requested that photographers and/or videographers not request a seat on press row and instead use designated photographer work areas.
*Media not directly covering an active game are requested to work from the press area and not press row, when possible.
PHOTOGRAPHERS/VIDEOGRAPHERS
NO photos or videos can be taken from the sidelines on the floor (neither behind/from press row or behind team benches or the scorers table). Photographers and videographers must shoot from the baseline on the side of the court opposite of the cheerleaders. Media must be seated at all times when on the baseline.
NO media members may be on the cheerleaders side of the court.
Media
cannot be on the floor at any time during warmups, timeouts or halftime. Media may go onto the floor for starting lineups and postgame celebration only.
Livestreaming of any sort (Facebook Live, Instagram Live, YouTube, etc.) is STRICTLY prohibited.
Photographers are allowed to shoot from the stands, if desired.
MEDIA WORK SPACES
Press row seats are intended to be used by working members of the written media that are covering the live game. There are two media work spaces set up for photographers, videographers and media not covering the live game; the riser behind the bleachers on the floor and the designated area behind the black curtains in the tunnel (behind team check in). Please do not utilize a press row seat to write/file a story for a past game if not also covering the current game.
STUDENT MEDIA
Student media
for competing teams will be allowed floor access for photos and interviews. However, no press row seating will be reserved for student media. For student media of schools not participating, an Athletic Director please needs to reach out to Amanda McClure (
amcclure@chsaa.org) prior to the games to discuss the need for coverage of that particular game.
All other
Student Media Pass Policies will be in effect, including the rule that one pass grants access for one student (two students cannot share one pass) and the pass must be from a competing school.
Student photographers and videographers must abide by all media guidelines at all times. No student photographers will be allowed on the floor at any time during warmups, timeouts or halftime. Student media cannot be behind the team benches or in any team areas, including during timeouts, at any time.
INTERVIEWS
No interviews may take place on the court so that the teams playing in the next game can begin their warmup period. All interviews must be conducted off the playing surface.
MEDIA/PROVISIONAL PASSES
Any member of the media with the 2025-26 CHSAA Media Pass is permitted entry. There is no championship-specific media credential. If someone from your outlet does not have the annual CHSAA media pass, please email Rob White (
rwhite@chsaa.org) as soon as possible to request a championship provisional pass.
- NO provisional passes will be issued for the 5A, 6A Great 8 after Thursday, March 5.
- NO provisional passes will be issued for the 4A Great 8 after Monday, March 9.
- NO provisional passes will be issued for the state basketball tournament after Tuesday, March 10.
If you do not have a CHSAA-issued annual pass, or have not requested a championship provisional, you will not be allowed into the arena as media personnel. You may purchase a ticket, but you will not be allowed onto the floor area.
