AURORA - The second round of the Colorado High School Activities Association's 6A Boys Basketball State Championship was played Friday night.
The most exciting finish of the night saw No. 11 Fossil Ridge's Drake Walker swish a 3-pointer at the buzzer for a 62-61 victory over No. 22 Denver East.
There were several upsets, including No. 21 Liberty knocking off defending state champion and No. 12 Eaglecrest 71-58, No. 24 Northfield scoring an impressive 80-53 road win at No. 9 Fruita Monument, and No. 18 Regis Jesuit defeating No. 15 Denver South 70-63.
The third round is now set for Tuesday at home sites. The tournament then shifts to the Denver Coliseum for quarterfinals on March 6, semifinals on Thursday, March 12 and the championship game on Saturday, March 14.
