Ice Hockey: Semifinals Set for Saturday at Ed Robson Arena

AURORA - The second day of the quarterfinal round of CHSAA's Ice Hockey State Championships is completed, with all four semifinal matches set for Saturday at Ed Robson Arena.

Saturday, Feb. 28 at Ed Robson Arena in Colorado Springs

  • 4A Semifinal Game 1 - 11:30 a.m. - No. 8 Colorado Springs District 11 vs. No. 4 Steamboat Springs
  • 4A Semifinal Game 2 - 2 p.m. - No. 2 Colorado Academy vs. No. 3 Pine Creek
  • 5A Semifinal Game 1 - 4:30 p.m. - No. 1 Poudre School District vs. No. 4 Regis Jesuit
  • 5A Semifinal Game 2 - 7 p.m. - No. 2 Valor Christian vs. No. 3 Cherry Creek
No. 3 Cherry Creek was the first team to clinch a semifinal spot on Wednesday, as it knocked off No. 6 Mountain Vista, 2-0, in the first 5A quarterfinal at South Suburban Sports Complex. The Bruins advance to face No. 2 Valor Christian, which defeated No. 7 Monarch, 2-0, Tuesday night. 

The other 5A semifinal will see No. 1 Poudre School District face No. 4 Regis Jesuit, which snuck past No. 5 Denver East in the fourth overtime period Wednesday night, 3-2. Poudre clinched its semifinal spot Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over No. 9 Chaparral. 

In 4A, No. 4 Steamboat Springs became the final team to clinch a semifinal spot, as it came-from-behind Wednesday night to defeat No. 5 Cheyenne Mountain, 3-2, in two overtimes. Steamboat Springs will advance to face No. 8 Colorado Springs District 11 in the first semifinal game at Saturday, while No. 2 Colorado Academy and No. 3 Pine Creek will meet in the second game. Colorado Springs District 11 clinched its spot in the semifinals with a 3-1 win over top-seeded Battle Mountain Tuesday night, while Colorado Academy shutout No. 10 Liberty, 6-0, and Pine Creek shutout No. 6 Standley Lake, 1-0. 

All four winners in each bracket will now head to Colorado Springs for the semifinals, as all four semifinal games will be played on Saturday at Ed Robson Arena. Fan Entrance: Spectators should park in the garage off of Dale Street. NEW THIS YEAR PER CC POLICIES: There is a fee to park in the garage and can be completed via Park Mobile (use Zone 49193). If the garage is full, there is street parking around the arena. There are a limited number of two-hour parking spots on Tejon Street west of the main entrance. Colorado Springs metered parking spots are located on both Tejon Street and Dale Street and are subject to the city’s published hours and rates. The free Zeb shuttle is also available and will drop guests off at the corner of Dale and N. Tejon Streets. (see map below). Please do not park in non-designated parking lots on campus.

Fan entrances will open 1 hour before the first Semifinal game (10:30 am). Spectators have two locations to enter. First is the main entrance, located next to the Tiger Statue at the corner of N. Tejon and Cache la Poudre Streets. To access from the parking garage, take the stairs or elevator on the west side to Level 1, exit the garage and walk north on Tejon St. The second option is via the west concourse entrance. From the parking garage, take the west stairs or elevator to Level 3 to enter. Spectators with club level or suite tickets should enter on the west side via Level 4 of the parking garage. There will not be access into the arena on the east side of the garage. Spectators will not be permitted to enter via the Keller Family (team) Entrance, Level 1 or Level 2.

Concession Stands: Concessions will be sold. Ed Robson Arena is a cashless venue.

Media Check-in: Media will enter the east club level on Level 4 of the parking garage, which is accessed from the West stairs or elevator and check-in with their CHSAA 2025-2026 Media pass. This pass must be visible at all times. Student media may also check-in with their school’s 2025-2026 CHSAA Student Media pass and must wear at all times. Per CHSAA policy, anyone on the rink level must be CHSAA media credentialed.
