AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association is excited to announce that Dr. Lauren Young will serve as the keynote speaker for the fourth annual Women in Leadership Conference.
Young, the Executive Director of the Vermont Principals Association, the founder of The GRL Initiative and the author of Lead Anyway will headline the women’s empowerment conference at Red Rocks on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Her book Lead Anyway, The Glow-Up Guide to Leadership That’s Real, Not Perfect will be released in November, but guests will have the opportunity to purchase a signed copy in advance on site. The book isn’t a “How to Lead Like a CEO” book, it’s a “how to lead when your child’s lunch isn’t made and you’re wearing yesterday’s makeup” book. It’s for every woman who has questions whether she was a leader and still showed up. It’s a blend of real stories, hard truths, and the kind of pep talks you’d get from your wisest, funniest friend who says what we’re all thinking.
Registration for the event is open now. Women that want to connect and engage with a supportive and encouraging community of women in education-based activities and athletes across Colorado is invited, and encouraged, to attend.
Attendees will have the opportunity to start the morning with a beautiful hike, a breathy run up the stairs and/or a peaceful yoga/meditation opportunity. Dress is comfortable and casual. Breakfast and lunch is included with the registration fee.
Space is extremely limited and the event is expected to sell out.
