COLORADO SPRINGS - The Colorado High School Activities Association crowned its girls soccer state champions for Classes 5A through 2A on Tuesday and Wednesday at Switchbacks Weidner Field.
While traditional powers Colorado Academy in 3A and Evergreen in 4A added to an already-impressive trophy case with a second straight title, Loveland Classical in 2A won its first state championship of any kind, and Fossil Ridge won its first girls soccer state title.
Colorado Academy has now won seven state soccer championships, while Evergreen won its fourth.
