4A Girls Golf Regionals: 2025 State Qualifiers Secured

AURORA -- Girls golf regionals are scheduled for this week in Class 4A, with the top two teams from each region and the top 13 individual players not on a qualifying team advancing to the state tournament.

Regionals for 4A started with Regions 1, 2 and 4 on Monday, and concluded with Region 3 on Tuesday.

The 4A state tournament is May 19 and 20 at The Broadlands in Greeley.

Class 4A

Region 1

In Region 1 at the Country Club of Colorado in Colorado Springs, Pueblo West compiled a team score of 252, two strokes better than Air Academy, to earn the regional title.

Individually, Air Academy freshman Landry Frost shot an even par 71 to beat the rest of the field by 10 stokes. Pueblo West's three scoring players -- Clayre Wagner, Gabi Benfatti and Addie Hunter -- finished second through fourth at 81, 84 and 87, respectively. Lila Hickey of Air Academy was fifth at 90, while rounding out the top 10 were Paige Garrett of Palmer (sixth at 91), Hadley Fox of Air Academy (seventh at 93) Scotlyn Gamble of Pueblo West (eighth at 94), Camryn Moberly of Cheyenne Mountain (ninth at 96) and Scarlett Ford of Rampart (10th at 97).

Region 2

At Fox Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood, Ponderosa cruised to the team title at 237, while Broomfield earned the second state tournament slot at 286.

Ponderosa's Olivia Meyering (1-under 71) and Kaylee Meyering (3-over 74) finished 1-2 individually, with teammate Jayme Brungardt placing seventh at 92.
Addison McCarthy (80) of Thomas Jefferson was third, Nora Hogan (81) of Dakota Ridge was fourth, Addison Blackwood (87) of Denver South was fifth and Mia Huerta (89) of Broomfield was sixth. Tied for eighth at 95 were Addison Harrison of Denver North and Lexie Chenoweth of Broomfield, while Makenna Crawford of Highlands Ranch was 10th at 96.

Region 3

At Twin Peaks Golf Course in Longmont, Riverdale Ridge compiled a three-player team score of 237 to win the regional championship, while Niwot earned the second team spot for state with a 254, one stroke better than third-place Windsor.

Brynn Balliet of Riverdale Ridge was the individual champion with a 70, four strokes better than second-place Macy Kleve of Windor. Sophia Capua of Vista Peak was third at 75, while Niwot's Wendy Cheruiyot was fourth at 79. Tied for fifth at 80 were Sonya Holmes of Niwot and Isla Briggs of Longmont. The Riverdale Ridge duo of Karina Panyavong and Leah Johnson finished seventh and eighth, respecitvely, with scores of 81 and 86. Abbie Winterbottom of Windsor was ninth at 88, and Longmont's Annia Van Dorn was 10th with 92.

Region 4

At the Olde Course in Loveland, Jayden Craig of Durango was the individual winner at 11-over par 83 and led her squad to the team title at 258, which was 17 strokes better than host Loveland.

Jordyn Bandemer of Loveland was second at 86, and tied for third at 87 were Dylan Livingston of Durango and Olivia Dorland of Loveland. Finishing fifth at 88 was Raimee Brant of Durango, while Pippa Cooper of Monarch was sixth at 89. Tied for seventh at 91 were Kaitlyn Liddle of Loveland and Aimy Granier of Montrose, while finishing tied for ninth at 94 were Ellie White of Durango and Malone Schaefer of Monarch.
