AURORA -- The first round of the 5A State Football Playoffs took place Friday night, with eight matchups involving the teams seeded from No. 9 through No. 24.

Winners advanced to the second round, where they will play a top-eight seed that had a first-round bye.

The 5A state championship game will be played Saturday, Dec. 6 at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins. It will be the third championship game of the day, following the 3A game at 10 a.m. and the 4A game at 1:30 p.m.
