THORNTON - The second day of the 2025 Gymnastics State Championships wrapped up Friday night with Niwot repeating as the 4A state champions and the Cougars' Genevieve Sauders winning the all-around title. A night earlier, Broomfield claimed the 5A team title - its fifth gymnastics state title in school history and first since 2022, while Arvada West's Layla Petz was crowned the individual all-around state champion for the second-straight year.
All individual event finals took place on Saturday with Arvada West's Layla Petz sweeping the 5A titles to become the 14th gymnast in state history to win all five individual championship - and the first since 2018. In 4A, Niwot's Saunders added two more event titles to her all-around gold, winning the vault and beam, while Pueblo Central's Karlee Knabenshue won the floor exercise and Standley Lake's Ava Vlcek took gold on the uneven bars.
