PUEBLO - The 6-man and 8-man football state champions were determined Friday at CSU Pueblo's Thunderbowl, with Idalia winning the 6-man title for the first time since 2010 and Haxtun capturing the 8-man championship for a second-straight season. Limon kicked off Saturday's action with its 23rd state title in the 1A championship, then Wellington cruised to the 2A crown.
The 3A, 4A and 5A State Championship games will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Colorado State University's Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins. No. 1 Windsor will face No. 2 Pomona in the 3A championship, while No. 2 Dakota Ridge will take on No. 3 Palmer Ridge in the 4A title game. No. 1 Cherry Creek and No. 2 Ralston Valley will meet in the nightcap for the 5A title.
