AURORA -- Six second-round games in the CHSAA  4A State Football Playoffs took place Friday night, with two more Saturday that will complete the quarterfinals field.

Friday's closest games were No. 8 Pueblo West's 16-14 win over No. 9 Northfield, and No. 3 Palmer Ridge's 19-16 win over No. 14 Mesa Ridge.

The 4A state championship game will be played Saturday, Dec. 6, at 1:30 at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins. It will be the second championship game of the day, following the 3A game at 10 a.m. and preceding the 5A game set for 5 p.m.
