AURORA -- The CHSAA 3A Football State Playoffs started Friday with four first-round games. Four more games will be played Saturday.

Friday highlights included a wild 50-42 win for No. 9 Pueblo South over No. 8 Conifer, and a close 28-21 victory over No. 5 Holy Family over No. 12 Thompson Valley. Also Friday, No. 10 Lutheran knocked off No. 7 Eagle Valley 31-15.

The 3A state championship game will be played Saturday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m. at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins. It will be the first championship game of the day, with the 4A game following at 1:30 p.m. and the 5A game set for 5 p.m.
