ARVADA - Broomfield and Niwot won the Arvada West Regional Gymnastics Championships Saturday at Arvada West High School.
With a team score of 180.475, Broomfield won the 5A regional title. Arvada West was second at 176.150, while Valor Christian was third with 169.325. Lakewood was fourth at 168.675 and Pomona was fifth with 165.750.
In 4A, defending state champion Niwot captured the regional title with a score of 181.250, while Standley Lake took second with a score of 174.375. Evergreen came in third (173.400), followed by Green Mountain (157.350) in fourth and Denver South/George Washington (154.675) in fifth.
The CHSAA Gymnastics State Championships are Thursday through Saturday at Thornton High School.

ARVADA - Arvada West's Layla Petz, the defending state champion in the all-around, won the the individual all-around with a score of 37.975. She also won the vault (9.550), bars (9.750), and floor (9.625).
Broomfield senior Liliana Wojahn was second behind Petz in all four disciplines in which Petz was the winner.
The only individual winner other than Petz was Broomfield senior Miata Santos on the beam at 9.500. Petz was fourth in that event at 9.050.
In the all-around, after Petz, Broomfield had Wojahn finish second at 36.775 with Santos third at 36.600, while Valor Christian senior teammates Lauren Becker (35.975) and Gabby Burt (35.875) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
Wojahn was also second in the vault at 9.450, leading the way as Broomfield earned the second through sixth finishes -- freshman Audrina Zanella and junior Keira La Hue tied for third at 9.375, with Santos (9.250) fifth.
On the bars, behind Petz and Wojahn (9.125), sophomore Layla Dempsey (9.000) was third, Valor Christian's Becker (8.875) was fourth, and Bromfield's Zanella (8.800) was fifth.
After Petz and Wojahn (9.275) on the floor, Broomfield's Santos (9.250) was third, Valor Chritian's Becker (9.225) was fourth and Bromfield freshman Kiara Homolka (9.175) took fifth.
On the beam, after Santos, was a tie for second between Broomfield's Zanella and Arvada West's Dempsey at 9.100, with Petz fourth and Valor Christian's Burt (9.025) fifth.

ARVADA - Defending all-around state champion Genevieve Saunders, a junior from Niwot, won the all-around at 36.650, while Standley Lake junior Ava Vlcek was second at 36.025, just ahead of her third-place Standley Lake teammate, Kira White (35.975). Evergreen sophomore Alivia Martin was fourth at 35.300, with Niwot junior Kylie Wilson (35.200) fifth.
Saunders also won the beam at 9.475, with senior teammate Lilly O'Neill second at 9.325. Evergreen senior Payton Sullivan (9.150) was third, Niwot sophomore Charlotte O'Neill (8.975) was fourth and Niwot's Wilson (8.850) was fifth.
Standley Lake's Vlcek won the bars with a score of 9.050, with Niwot's Lilly O'Neill (9.000) second, Niwot senior Isabella Foster (8.925) third, Niwot's Wilson (8.925) fourth and Standley Lake sophomore Kara Sundbye (8.850) fifth.
White of Standley Lake won two events -- the vault (9.650) and the floor (9.575).
In the vault, Saunders (9.575) was second, Charlotte O'Neill (9.250) was third and Foster (9.225) was fourth as Niwot earned the second through fourth spots. Martin of Evergreen scored 9.075 for fifth.
And, on the floor, Charlotte O'Neill (9.475) was second, Lilly O'Neill (9.375) was third, Saunders (9.350) fourth and Martin (9.325) placed fifth.
