AURORA - The opening weekend of the Flag Football State Championships has been completed with all first and quarterfinal round matches completed Saturday. Semfinal matchups for next week have been determined.

In 5A, No. 1 seed and defending state champion Mountain Vista, No. 3 Legend, No. 4 Ralston Valley, No. 7 Chaparral have advanced, while in 4A the semifinalists are No. 1 seed The Classical Academy, No. 2 defending state champion Mountain View, No. 3 Pomona and No. 4 Green Mountain.

The semifinal games are Wednesday at Jeffco Stadium (4A) and Trailblazer Stadium (5A). The two state championship games will then be contested Saturday, Oct. 25 at Trailblazer Stadium. The 4A final is scheduled for 4 p.m., following by the 5A championship at 6:45 p.m.
